Yard sale Saturday

There will be a multi-family yard sale Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon at Refreshing Word Ministry, 535 Holmes St. Proceeds will benefit the church and youth programs. 

 

Choateville Christian pantry open Saturday morning

The pantry at Choateville Christian Church, 1533 Devils Hollow Rd., will be open Saturday morning for food distribution to Franklin County residents only. One unit of food per family is available on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m.-noon or until all is distributed.  

 

Basket Meeting at Green Hill Baptist

The annual Basket Meeting is set for 3 p.m. Sunday at Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 127 Green Hill Ave. Morning services will not be held. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Guests will be Pastor Robert Morton and the Mount Olive Baptist Church congregation, Georgetown. Everyone is welcome.

 

Chautauqua series continues

A traditional jazz band, “Hot Sevens,” will perform at the annual Chautauqua Summer Arts series at 6 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 211 Washington St. The series concludes Aug. 24 with the University of Kentucky AcoUstiKats, an a capella men’s singing group that competed on NBC’s The Singing Bee.

All concerts take place in Asbury Hall in the church. The concerts are free and open to the public.

 

‘Concerts in August’ at Crestwood Baptist 

“Grace X4” performs 6 p.m. Sunday at Crestwood Baptist Church, 1006 East Main St. “The Florida Boys” will be featured 7 p.m. Aug. 21 at the church. The series continues with the “Hilltop Trio” Aug. 24. The concerts are free and open to the public.

 

Upward Bound registration continues

MIDWAY — Registration continues through Aug. 21 for the Upward Bound Flag Football and Cheerleading program at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, Duckers Station Road. The program is for boys and girls in grades K-5.

The cost through Friday is $80 per child and $85 through Aug. 21. To register your child or for more information, visit www.forksbaptist.org or call 859-873-1967.

 

Sing-Along/Ice Cream Social

The annual Sing-Along/Ice Cream social will be held at Bridgeport Christian Church, 175 Evergreen Rd., at 7 p.m. Aug. 23. After the sing-along, the Helping Hands circle will serve homemade ice cream and cake in Case Fellowship Hall. All donations will help support the Helping Hands Scholarship Fund and other charitable organizations.

 

Children’s consignment sale at Providence

A consignment sale featuring children’s items is set for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 13 Providence Baptist Church, 6265 Georgetown Road. Sparrow Missions will receive a portion of the proceeds.
