Awana program at Memorial Baptist Church,Holmes Street
Awana, open to children pre-K through eighth grade, meets 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday and continues every week at Memorial Baptist Church, 130 Holmes St. In its 60th year, the Awana program helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth.
Salad supper planned for Graefenburg Christian Church
The annual Ladies Ministry Salad Supper will be held at Graefenburg Christian Church, 5900 Louisville Road, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. There will be music, a motivational speaker and “all the salad you can eat.” Call Rita Redmon at 502-320-4738 to register. Everyone is welcome.
Children’s consignment sale
A consignment sale featuring children’s items is set for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 13 Providence Baptist Church, 6265 Georgetown Road. Sparrow Missions will receive a portion of the proceeds. Fundraiser set for Sunday at First Baptist on Clinton Street
Members of the Church Anniversary Committee at First Baptist Church, 100 Clinton St., will be selling chicken pie dinners following the morning worship service Sunday. Proceeds will benefit the church.
The committee is sponsoring a musical workshop at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 under the direction of Marion Rogers. Rehearsals are set for 7-9 p.m. Sept. 16, 18 and 19. The cost is $10 per person.
Browders in concert Sunday
The Browders will be present a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at the West Frankfort Church of God, Louisville Road. The public is invited.
Singers needed for ‘Requiem’
Members of the community are invited to join the First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir in performing John Rutter’s Requiem Nov. 2. Rehearsals are 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, located at 211 Washington St.
