Awana program at Memorial Baptist    

Awana, open to children pre-K through eighth grade, meets 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday and continues every week at Memorial Baptist Church, 130 Holmes St. In its 60th year, the Awana program helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth. 


Singers needed for ‘Requiem’

Members of the community are invited to join the First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir in performing John Rutter’s Requiem Nov. 2. Rehearsals are 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, located at 211 Washington St.

‘The Story’ at Capital City Christian

“The Story” is a 31-week program that has Bible selections arranged chronologically, and reads like a novel. Beginning at the 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday services at Capital City Christian Church, 15 Locust Lane, participants will read their own version of “The Story.” For more details, call 502-695-1188 or visit


Concert at Alton Baptist

“Narrow Road,” a bluegrass gospel band will perform at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at Alton Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg. A free breakfast will be served 9-10 a.m. Everyone is invited.


Children’s consignment sale

A consignment sale featuring children’s items is set for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 13 at Providence Baptist Church, 6265 Georgetown Road. Sparrow Missions will receive a portion of the proceeds. The deadline to consign is Sept. 5. For detailed information, visit or call Michelle Barnes at 502-320-4716.


Vendors needed for mission trip fundraiser

Vendors and crafters are needed for a Fall Bazaar Sept. 27 at the American Legion, 164 Versailles Rd. Each vendor will be asked to donate an item to be raffled and these proceeds will help fund a mission trip to Ghana organized by Pastor Mikel Robinson of Greenhill Missionary Baptist Church.
