KSU splits games

Kentucky State's men's basketball team defeated Paine College Saturday night 80-75 in Augusta, Ga., while the KSU women lost to Paine 71-55.

The Thorobreds had three players in double figures while shooting 43 percent from the field, including 35.7 percent (5-for-14) on three-pointers.

KSU's Ricky Green was the game's leading scorer with 22 points. Teammates Alwyn Curtis and Jason McGowan had 16 and 11 points, respectively.

Germaletta Dyson had 26 points and 24 rebounds to lead Paine's women's team to a 71-55 win over KSU.

Kentucky State was led in scoring by Felicia West with 19 points, followed by Rachel Peterson with 16 and Malikah Shabazz with 13. Peterson had 14 rebounds for KSU, and West had 10.

Paine remains unbeaten in the SIAC with a 4-0 conference mark. The Lady Lions are 5-1 overall. KSU is 3-7 overall, 1-3 in the SIAC.
