Frankfort High coach Joey Thacker tried several lineups versus Nicholas County.
As it turned out, most of them worked out as the Lady Panthers went on to a 70-52 win Thursday night at F.D. Wilkinson Gym.
"This is a good time of the year to look as some different combinations, especially with this not being a district game," Thacker said. "We wanted to use our depth and athleticism to test some things out."
Nicholas County is led by third-year coach Nikki Smoot, a former teacher at Second Street School. The Bluejackets are now 2-4.
Thacker played 11 players in the first half, even when the game was still in doubt. One of those players, senior Tish Mulder, saw action for the first time this year after recovering from an eye injury suffered during soccer season.
The Bluejackets brought in a nice mix of size and perimeter shooting, so this was a good team for Frankfort to play against with Thacker's plan to tinker with the personnel on the floor.
But the one constant in Thacker's arsenal was senior Jackie Gordon, who recorded a rather unusual triple-double with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 15 deflections. Gordon added four steals.
