K-State drops two

Kentucky State's basketball teams both lost to LeMoyne-Owen College Monday night in Memphis, Tenn.

The K-State teams return to action Thursday at Miles College.

On Monday LeMoyne-Owen's men's team won 85-78, and the women's team won 49-39.

In the men's game, the Magicians led 47-40 at halftime after hitting 62 percent from the field. KSU shot 40 percent in the first half.

LeMoyne-Owen held a 38-24 rebounding advantage with Vomo Walker grabbing a game-high nine rebounds.

Chris Cosby led the Magicians with 23 points and 10 assists. Larry Johnson finished with 22 points, and Cortez Stigger chipped in 18.

KSU's Marlon Walls led all scorers with 24 points, Devonne Martinez had 19 points, and Nabil Boudissa added 10. Scott Reynolds and Martinez led K-State in rebounding with four rebounds apiece.
