Chris Current is too good to be true.
What makes the Frankfort High basketball star so special, however, is not his athletic prowess. That only adds to who he really is.
Because at the heart of Chris Current is a friendly, respectful, old soul with a great sense of humor. You won't find a young man out there today who's more polite, more honest, more hardworking.
And on top of all of this he is, in fact, one of the best student-athletes to come out of the Frankfort area in a long time.
"I think he'll go down as one of the better basketball players from this area," Frankfort coach Scott Chalk said of Current, an all-stater who currently is the state's sixth best scorer (25.3 ppg) and third leading rebounder (11 rpg).
Among the top 10 players in each of those categories, Current is the lone player in both.
"He's got to go down as one of the best Frankfort High players ever, without a doubt," added Chalk.
Toss in Current's status as a double state track champion, an all-county baseball shortstop, a three-year cross country runner, and how he swam competitively for nine years, and it's easy to see why Current is always on top of his game.
