Central State placed five players in double figures as the Marauders defeated Kentucky State 96-81 in men's college basketball action Saturday night in Wilberforce, Ohio.
Central State's women's team defeated KSU 100-61 Saturday.
In the men's game, the Marauders (12-8) led just 41-39 at halftime. Kentucky State shot 56.7 percent in the first half while holding CSU to 39 percent. The Thorobreds were a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line, and Central State was 8-for-13.
But in the second half, Central State shot 51.4 percent to 43.8 percent by KSU. The free throws were pretty even in the final 20 minutes as CSU went 16-for-21 and K-State went 11-for-19.
Kentucky State's Marlon Walls went 13-for-21 from the field and finished with 31 points. Teammate Jason McGowan scored 22 points.
