Eastman, Moore lead Franklin Co. in loss to Conner

Seniors Daniel Moore and Eric Eastman combined for 53 points Friday night, but it wasn't enough to overcome an early deficit as Franklin County fell to Conner 78-66 Friday night at FCHS.

"We played hard-in the second half, but you can't play a half and beat a good team," said FCHS coach Lewis Morris. "Eric played his best game tonight. Daniel played well, but two or three players playing well is not enough."

Conner (9-8) started with a 9-2 run and built a 25-9 first-quarter lead. The Cougars led 33-14 midway through the second quarter and 41-26 at halftime.

The Flyers (10-8) battled back in the third quarter and got as close as eight points twice.

"The hole we dug for ourselves in the first half was just too much to get out of," Morris said.

Chuck Houston's career-high 30 points led Conner, which is located in Boone County in northern Kentucky. The senior had three 3-pointers and connected on 12 of 15 free throws, most of those coming down the stretch.
