VERSAILLES - Three proved to be the magic number for the Frankfort High boys and Woodford County girls basketball teams as the two squads each won their third straight 41st District titles.
The Woodford girls made nine three-pointers in the finals against Frankfort High and did most of their damage in the third quarter.
The Panther boys, meanwhile, outscored their WCHS counterparts in three of the four quarters to take the boys title and earn their three-peat.
Three is also the number of underclassmen starters FHS will return next season - freshman Aaron Dunaway, plus sophomores Will Current and Tory Robertson - as the team will try to make it four straight.
Woodford County's girls victory was especially sweet for head coach Jay Lucas. Not because it was the Lady Jackets third title in row but because it's been a tough year for Lucas as a coach.
