State Journal Staff Report Published:

Down 4-0, Rotary rallied for five runs in the fourth inning to win the championship game of the Cal Ripken baseball league tournament 5-4 over Penn Station Subs Monday at Paul Weddle Stadium.

Penn Station, coming out of the losers bracket, jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, added a run in the second inning and took a 4-0 lead in the third.

The first-inning run came on a walk to Jordan Queen and a double by Tyler Greis. In the second Trevor Wright led off with a double, went to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a grounder to shortstop by Cory Fine.

Queen hit a solo home run in the third inning. Penn Station's other run in the inning scored when Greis singled, Joe Greenwell reached on an error and Wright drove in Greis with a base hit for a 4-0 advantage.

Rotary, which had two hits through the first three innings, did all its damage in the fourth.

J.T. Riddle led off with a single, Mike Satterwhite drew a walk, and Jordan Bibb reached on an error to load the bases with no outs. Craig Copas then walked, scoring Riddle and leaving the bases loaded.

Satterwhite scored on a wild pitch that advanced the other runners, and Oakley Watkins followed with a double to score Bibb and Copas with the tying runs. Morgan Terry then reached on an error, bringing Watkins home with what proved to be the game-winning run.
