Frankfort 13s in final tonight

State Journal Staff Report Published:

The Frankfort Babe Ruth baseball 13-year-old all-star team stayed alive in the district tournament, winning two games in the losers bracket Sunday advance to tonight's championship game.

Frankfort will face Oldham County tonight at 6 p.m. at Franklin County High School. Frankfort would need to beat Oldham twice to win the championship. Should Frankfort win the first game, a second game will immediately follow.

The locals breezed in the first game Sunday, knocking off NCKBA North 20-3. The game was called after six innings. Frankfort then defeated NCKBA South 16-7 in the second game.

Against NCKBA South, Frankfort jumped out on top 11-0 early, including eight runs in the first on eight hits.

Frankfort added two runs in the next inning on a two-RBI hit by Brandon May, while Jordan Hall singled in the third inning before coming around to score for the 11-0 lead.
