Woolums, Amato tied in FCC tourney

Bill Woolums and Bob Amato are tied for the lead in the Frankfort Country Club men's golf championship while Beth Curlin is headed toward yet another women's title.

Woolums and Amato, who each carded a 73, lead a tight race as six other golfers are within three strokes of the leaders.

Rick Harp and Brad Meyer are one stroke behind with 74s and Don Wainscott shot a 75. Defending champion Bert Hawkins, Bentley Bradshaw and Pat Doll shot a 76 apiece. Rounding out the top 10 are Larry Grasch and Brad Nolan, who each fired a 77.

Curlin turned in the day's best round, shooting a 71, good enough for an eight-stroke lead over Rachel Oliver.
