Consistency was the best part of Anne Combs' round Friday afternoon on the final day of the Capital Classic golf tournament at the Frankfort Country Club.
That consistency helped Combs overcome a two-stroke deficit to first-round leader Laurie Goodlett and win her tenth title at FCC.
"I love everything about this tournament," Combs said. "I've played a lot here and it's always marvelous."
Combs shot rounds of 71 and 74 to card a 145 and win the tournament by four strokes over Goodlett, who shot an 80 on Friday to follow up her sizzling 69 the day before.
"I played okay but I had a couple of double bogeys that really hurt me," said Goodlett, the 1990 and 2001 champion. "It's very hard to follow up a low round like what I had on Thursday. Then, everything was falling and bouncing the right way, but that didn't happen today."
Six-time champ Beth Curlin finished in third place at 150 (74-76) and there was a three-way tie for fourth place at 153 between Jennifer Sullivan (76-77), Chapin Hoskins (78-75) and Marsha Bordas (78-75).
