Wednesday night's matchup between the Franklin County and Danville girls soccer teams had a lot of excitement and quality play from both squads.
But no goals.
The match, held at Sower Soccer Field, ended in a scoreless tie.
"We're pleased with the way the girls played," FCHS assistant coach Emily Brechting said. "We're just not pleased with the scoreboard at the end."
It was the first tie of the season for the Lady Flyers, who are now 3-8-1. Danville is 5-4-1.
Both teams had several scoring opportunities, especially in the second half, with the Lady Flyers earning the most chances at a goal.
"We had lots of scoring opportunities," FCHS head coach Charley Carlson said. "We just didn't convert them and that was the difference."
Franklin County's best chance to get on the scoreboard came in the final eight minutes, when the Lady Flyers went on the offensive attack and earned four good attempts, one at point blank range.
