FCHS plays to a tie

By LINDA YOUNKIN State Journal Sports Writer Published:

The defense came up big for Franklin County's boys soccer team Saturday afternoon at Sower Soccer Field.

It had to for the Flyers to come way with a scoreless tie as Somerset outshot FCHS 25-5 but couldn't get a goal across.

"Clemens (Dundalek) and our backs played great," Franklin County coach David Rice said, "but everyone else didn't show up. There's not a single person who played in front of our backs who showed up."

The Briarjumpers (5-5-3) had the ball on their offensive end of the field almost the entire game, but Dundalek, Franklin County's keeper, made some spectacular saves for the shutout. Logan Green was in goal for Somerset.
