The Western Hills boys soccer team posted its second straight 6-1 victory, beating Richmond Model by that score Tuesday at Sower Soccer Field.
WHHS won 6-1 against Bryan Station last Thursday in its last outing.
"Our last two games, against Bryan Station and Model, we won by the same score," Western Hills goalkeeper Aaron Lawrence said. "At the beginning of the year our problem was scoring, so it's good to see us put the ball in the net. It takes a lot of pressure off."
David Abell had a hat trick in Tuesday's game, scoring one goal in the first half and two in the second. He gave the Wolverines a 1-0 lead with a shot to the far post, and Tyler Toncray made the score 2-0 when he back-heeled the ball into the net from six yards out.
Model's Cody Buell then scored to cut WHHS' advantage to 2-1, but Toncray scored his second goal of the night from the right side to make the halftime score 3-1.
Abell scored with 34:02 left in the game and again six minutes later to put Western Hills ahead 5-1. Michael Johnston's goal with 3:17 remaining closed out the scoring.
