Improvements help FCHS defeat WHHS

The Franklin County volleyball team made some quick improvements after a poor performance Tuesday night on the road, and in the process turned in an impressive win over Western Hills Thursday night at FCHS.

One day after a victory over Anderson County, the Lady Flyers won on senior night, knocking off the Lady Wolverines 25-19, 25-9.

"We came out ready to play," said senior Tara Brewer. "It was senior night and we decided we were going to work together as a team."

That's exactly what FCHS didn't do in a Tuesday night loss to Scott County, falling 25-18, 25-14.

"Our last game at Scott County was horrible," Brewer said. "We were awful, but we practiced, especially our serving, and it showed tonight. We talked more, had better serves, hit the ball better, did everything better."

Franklin County coach Kate Dominick agreed.

"We did have a rough night Tuesday," Dominick said. "We didn't come together as a team, so it was nice to see them come together tonight."
