Fog delays first round in state golf

Special to The State Journal Published:

Fog has created problems for the girls state golf tournament in Ashland.

Tuesday's round started one hour and 15 minutes late because of fog, and play was suspended at 7:10 p.m. with 39 players still on the course at Bellefonte Country Club.

Among those players was Franklin County's Rachel Oliver.

Play was scheduled to resume this morning at 8:15, and after the first round is completed the cut will be made about 10 a.m. with the second and final round to start around 11.

The other four FCHS golfers completed their rounds Tuesday. Holly Kell led the team with an 88, followed by Jamie Harp, 90; and Alex Cunningham and Shana Faesy, 107.
