The Frankfort High girls basketball team wasn't the same squad Thursday night which opened the season with a gritty win Monday.
And the result was a 65-33 loss to Tates Creek at F.D. Wilkinson gym.
"We just played hard the whole game," Lady Panther coach Nikki Smith said of Monday's season opener versus Harrodsburg. "That night we played like we wanted to win and tonight we didn't have that."
Frankfort also didn't have two key players. Senior Brittany Wilson is out with a foot injury and freshman Ashleigh Boone had a church commitment.
"I'm sure that played a factor in how we played because both those two play a lot of minutes," Smith said. "But teams have to adjust to that."
The Lady Panthers started off strong against the Lady Commodores. Ahead 4-2, Frankfort began to struggle with Tates Creek's pressure defense and the Lady Commodores picked up several easy baskets in transition.
Tates Creek scored the next 10 points before Smith called a timeout with 3:57 left in the first period.
