Little League wraps up tonight

FOP and White Castle play for the Little League tournament championshp tonight at 6 p.m. at Lakeview Park. Both teams won Thusday to reach the title game.

If White Castle wins, a second game will be played at 7:30 p.m.

The Instructional League tournament wraps up tonight.

In the Minor League tournament, Farm Bureau and Commonwealth Credit Union play tonight in the winners bracket final. The championship will be Saturday at noon, and if a second game is needed it will be played Sunday at 2 p.m.

Little League

White Castle 5, Investors 4

Getting hits for White Castle were Jazmyne Karsner with a double and single, Darby Taylor with two singles, and Kenzie Ritchie with a single

Tori Zeigler pitched and had nine strikeouts.

Lindsey Axon hit a home run and single for Investors Heritage, Shelby Rutledge and Samantha Collings both hit two singles, and MacKenzee Sawyer hit a single.

Taylor Slade pitched and had 16 strikeouts.

Minor League

McDonald’s 4, Pinnacle 1

Getting hits for Graviss McDonald’s were Sydney Strickland with a triple, Kerry Taylor and Logan Amburgey each with a double, and Reagan Sutton, Katie Marshall, Amber Ferrell and Samya Keith each with a single.

Taylor and Marshall pitched for McDonald’s.

Katherine Mangeot hit a home run for Pinnacle Insurance Group, Kelsi Sheets hit a double, and Taylor Cheek, Misti Ward, Alisha Ward, Kendyl Tudor and Kayla Perry each had a base hit.

VFW 5, Hillcrest Baptist 0
Getting hits for VFW were Dakota Hopewell with a triple and single, Mikayla Cummins with a double and single, Nancy Roach with two singles, Olivia Smith and Lydia Murphy each with a double, and Shelby Brown and Sydney Lee each with a single.

Cummins pitched for VFW.

Those with hits for Hillcrest Baptist Church were Taylor Boggs with a triple, Alyssa Keeling with a double, and Bethany Keeling and Nakiyah McGee each with a single.

Instructional League

Reds 15, Royals 6

Montana Muravchick hit a home run, double and single for the Reds, Katy Redmon and Ashton Popp each hit a triple, double and single, Sarah Burriss and Gracie Mika both hit a triple and two singles, Chelsea Smither and Kristen Sprouse both singled twice, and Jaylin Muravchick, Kathrine Mahoney, Alexis Carrier and Marlja Bickers each had a base hit.

Taylor Amburgey and McKenzie Edgett both hit a home run and single for the Royals, Payton Sands hit a triple and single, Natalie Thomas hit two singles, Peyton Sutton hit a triple, and Madison LeCompte, Amiyah Jacobs, Devyn Cheatham and Holly Wolford each hit a single.

Red Sox 7, Yankees 6

Shelby Dearing hit a home run and two triples for the Red Sox,  Ellen Williams hit a home run and single, Kelsie Fay hit a triple and single, Taylor Risk hit a double, and Syhia Marks, Allie Trent, Katlynn Fay and Sidney Edwards all hit singles.

Getting hits for the Yankees were Madison Parido with a triple and two singles, Reagan West with three singles, Savanna Boone with two doubles, Mya Rogers and Bailey Cardwell with two singles, Jennah Ruebens and Ally Yount with a double, and Anonda Pearl, Kathryn Edwards, Katelyn Slone and Aaliyah Jones each with a single.

Wednesday’s Results

Here are results from Wednesday’s tournament games for Instructional, Minor and Little league softball.

Instructional League

Royals 21, Red Sox 11

Getting hits for the Royals were Madison LeCompte with a double and three singles, Amiyah Jacobs with two home runs and a double, Taylor Amburgey with a double and two singles, Payton Sands, Natalie Thomas and Eryn Stuckwish with three singles apiece, McKenzie Edgett with a double and a single and Peyton Sutton and Devyn Cheatham two singles each.

Getting Hits for Red Sox were Taylor Risk with a home run, triple and a single, Ellen Williams with a double and two singles, Kelsie Fay with three singles, Shelby Dearing with a home run and a single, Adyson Gatewood with two singles, and Katlynn Fay, Gracie Wilburn, Sydney Cardwell and Allie Trent with a single each.

Yankees 14, Blue Jays 13

Getting hits for Yankees were Madison Parido with a home run, triple and a single, Katelyn Slone with three singles, Savanna Boone with two singles and a double, Anonda Pearl, Jennah Ruebens and Ayoina Clark with a double and a single each, Kathryn Edwards and Ally Yount with two singles, Reagan West with a double and Aaliyah Jones and Bailey Cardwell each with a single.

Getting hits for Blue Jays were Gracie Strasburger with a home run and three singles, Casey Anglin with a home run, double and a single, Emily Smith with a double and two singles, Brianna Winkfield and Brooklyn Perry with three singles, Tara Collins, Amaya Skipper, Hailey Rhodes and Carly Sutton two singles each, Trinity Flora with a triple, and Olivia Huff and Amanda Jones with a single each.

Minor League

Getting hits for Farm Bureau were Emily Jordan with a home run and a single, Brandi Cook with two singles, and Kristin McNees, Lexi Abbott and Summer McIntosh with a single each.

The lone hit for Pinnacle Insurance was Alisha Ward with a double.

Commonwealth Credit Union 5, VFW 4

Getting hits for CCU were Chloe Hammond with two singles, Haley Harrod with a double, and Kelley Barker, Ashleigh Caudell, Olivia Mitchell, Hannah Roberts and Shaienne McKnight with a single each.

FOP 2, Investors Heritage 1

Getting hits for FOP was Shelby Sanders with a single.

Taylor Dile pitched and had five strikeouts.

Getting hits for Investors Heritage were Taylor Slade with a double and a single, and Shelby Rutledge, Megan Layson, Lindsey Axon and Shelby McDonald with a single each.

Slade pitched and had nine strikeouts.

White Castle 13, Pinnacle Insurance 2

Getting hits for White Castle were Jazmyne Karsner with three singles, Kenzie Ritchie and Tori Zeigler with two singles each, and Brooke Loman, Emma White and McKenna Smith with a single apiece.

Zeigler pitched and had nine strikeouts.

Getting hits for Pinnacle Insurance were Kayla Stockton with a double and Kiana Butler, Jenny Wallace and Taylor Addams with a single each.

Butler and Hailey Boden pitched and had eight strikeouts.
