FHS does well at Shelbyville meet

SHELBYVILLE – Frankfort High’s Cailyn Jouett, Shantiqua Shaw and Aaron Jackson all won events at the Shelby County all-comers track meet Tuesday.


Jouett won the girls shot put with a toss of 32 feet, 1 inch and was second in the discus at 69-07.


Shaw took first in the 100-meter hurdles in 19.14 seconds. She was second in the 200-meter dash in 28.45 seconds and fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.92.


Jackson won the 400-meter dash in 52.68 seconds and was third in the 100-meter dash in 11.94.


FHS had two other athletes compete in the meet.


Amber Wilcoxson was seventh in the 100-meter dash in 14.65, sixth in the 200 in 30.65, and second in the 400 with a time of 1:11.18. Bernadette Jaminet placed 13th in the 100 in 19.96.


On Saturday Frankfort competed in Walton-Verona’s Light the Night meet.


Jackson won the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.5 seconds. He was fourth in the 200 in 24.1 and ninth in the 100 in 12.2 seconds.


The Panthers had two other athletes compete on the boys side.


Zhavaughn Reed was 23rd in the 100 and 200 with times of 13.2 and 27.2, respectively, and he placed 28th in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 53 seconds.


Church Gray was 27th in the 1,600 in 5:48.


On the girls side, Shaw was fourth in the 100-meter dash in 13.8 and seventh in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles with times of 18.4 and 53.4, respectively.


Shanae Brown placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.5 seconds and sixth in the 200-meter dash in 28.7.


Jasmine Washington finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.2 seconds, and Jouett took sixth place in the shot put at 31-2.


The 4x100-meter relay team of Brienna Morford, Washington, Shauntae Brown and Shanae Brown placed third, and the 4x200 relay team was fourth. Running on the 4x200 was Shaw, Washington, Brown and Brown.
