Franklin County’s Ryan Timmons and Ashli Mayes both received honorable mention on the Courier-Journal all-state basketball teams.
Mayes, a senior, had her season cut short by a knee injury. In eight games this past season she averaged 15 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals.
She has signed to play basketball at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
Timmons, a junior, averaged 15.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and three steals per game.
Flyers fall to Anderson 4-1
Franklin County’s boys tennis team lost to Anderson County 4-1 Thursday at FCHS.
The Flyers play their next match at home today against Western Hills.
