FHS boys fall to Shelby Co.

Frankfort High’s boys tennis team now stands at 2-5 after falling to Shelby County 4-1 Tuesday in Shelbyville.

On Monday Anderson County squeaked by FHS 3-2, and Western Hills edged the Panthers 3-2 last Thursday. Both of these matches took place at Kentucky State.

FHS plays its next match at home Monday against Bullitt East.

Shelby Co. 4, FHS 1

Singles – James Murphy (FH) def. Eric Schreiner 6-4, 7-5; Ethan Russell (SC) def. Seth Midkiff 6-0, 6-3; Jeron Russell (SC) def. Nick Ballantyne 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles – Doug Martin-Jimmy Wellman (SC) def. Logan Brothers-Noah Bates 6-1, 6-4; Luke Dove-Luke Brown (SC) def. Matthew Bailey-Jared King 6-0, 7-6 (7-3).

Anderson Co. 3, FHS 2

Singles – Ben McDonald (AC) def. James Murphy 7-5, 6-1; Seth Midkiff (FH) def. Ben Speer 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-3; Nick Ballantyne (FH) def. Brandon Boggs 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

Doubles – Luke Warford-Lowell Gordon (AC) def. Noah Bates-Logan Brothers 6-2, 6-2; T.J. Pham-Ty Glover (AC) def. Dylan Sullivan-Jared King 6-0, 6-0.

WHHS 3, FHS 2

Singles – James Murphy (FH) def. Henry Collett 6-2, 7-5; Robert Greenwell (WH) def. Seth Midkiff 6-4, 6-0; Logan Brothers (FH) def. Marco Fricker 3-6, 6-0, 6-1.

Doubles – Kodey Hickman-Trey Badgett (WH) def. Noah Bates-Nick Ballantyne 6-2, 6-4; Max Bringmann-Will Grasch (WH) def. Dylan Sullivan-Matthew Bailey 6-0, 6-2.

 

WHHS shuts out Flyers

Western Hills’ boys tennis team defeated Franklin County 5-0 Tuesday at FCHS.

WHHS hosts Bullitt Central today while the Flyers play at Danville.

Singles – Henry Collett (WH) def. Andrew Greenawalt 6-2, 6-2; Robert Greenwell (WH) def. Alex Mucci 7-5, 6-4; Marco Fricker (WH) def. Joshua Young 6-2, 6-0.

Doubles – Trey Badgett-Kodey Hickman (WH) def. Eric Lowe-Clay Marshall 6-1, 6-3; Max Bringmann-Will Grasch (WH) def. Robert Washburn-Abhi.
