Boys tennis: Western Hills beats Carroll, FCHS

WHHS downs Carroll 4-1

The Western Hills boys tennis team defeated Carroll County 4-1 on Thursday night as the Wolverine’s celebrated senior night. 

Max Bringmann is the lone senior on the team. He is a German exchange student at WHHS and has been a solid player on the team this season and will play doubles in the regional tournament beginning Monday at FCHS.

The Wolveirnes will play a rescheduled match against Frankfort High today at 4:15pm at WHHS. 

Singles – Sergio Pascual (CC) def. Kodey Hickman (WH) 6-2, 6-1; Trey Badgett (WH) def. Josh McCarty (CC) 6-1, 6-0; Felix Lopez (WH) def. Noah Abercrombie (CC) 6-4, 6-0. 

Doubles – Will Grasch-Max Bringmann (WH) def. Joe Gemmer- Dakota Corbin (CC) 7-5, 6-3; Robert Greenwell-Henry Collett (WH) def. Zeke Kates-Gabe Kates (CC) 6-0, 6-1.

 

WHHS stops Flyers 4-1

Western Hills’ boys tennis team defeated Franklin County 4-1 Wednesday at WHHS.

The Flyers play at Louisville Eastern today.

Singles – Andrew Greenawalt (FC) def. Robert Greenwell 6-4, 1-6, 1-0; Henry Collett (WH) def. Ryan Sturm 6-4, 7-5; Felix Lopez (WH) def. Stefan Ignat 6-2, 6-3.

Doubles – Trey Badgett-Kodey Hickman (WH) def. Clay Marshall-Eric Lowe 6-1, 6-4; Max Bringmann-Will Grasch (WH) def. Joshua Young-Sean Jarboe 6-1, 6-1.
