The Cal Ripken League baseball tournament started Tuesday at Paul Weddle Field.
The Stars and Crumbaugh Properties won Tuesday, and Shoe Carnival and Rotary posted victories Wednesday.
Two winners’ bracket games were played Thursday. Tonight in the consolation bracket FOP plays Chenault & Hoge at 5:30 p.m., followed by McDonald’s versus the Cleveland Indians at 7.
The double-elimination tournament is scheduled to conclude with the championship game Wednesday at 7 p.m. If it’s the first loss of the tournament for the loser of that game, a second game will be played Thursday at 6 p.m.
Here are the results from games played Tuesday and Wednesday.
Stars 3, FOP 2
The Stars scored two runs in the sixth inning to win Tuesday’s opener.
Those with hits for the Stars were Nick Roush with a double, and Jesse Thurman and Walker Lee each with a single. Roush and Lee pitched.
Baylor Napier hit a triple and double for FOP, and Robbie Brown had a base hit. Isaac Dotson and Napier pitched.
Crumbaugh Properties 8, Chenault & Hoge 4
TA Crumbaugh and Corbin Farley both hit home runs for Crumbaugh Properties Tuesday.
Zach Poe singled and doubled, Nate Johnson hit a double, and Tristen Cinnamon had a base hit. Farley and Nathan Hudson pitched.
For Chenault & Hoge Kennley Ballinger singled twice, and Tyler Cleveland, Nick Lewis and Timothy Hurley each hit a single.
Nick Lewis and Cleveland pitched.
Shoe Carnival 6, McDonald’s 5
Shoe Carnival scored a run in the seventh inning to edge McDonald’s Wednesday.
Ryan Staples hit two doubles and a single for Shoe Carnival, Brady Roberts hit a double and single, and Tyler Hockensmith, Brady Taylor, John Caldwell, Christian Goins, Eli Hillock and Isaac Fluharty each hit a single.
Staples and Hockensmith pitched.
McDonald’s hits were a double and single each from Conner Graves and Hyden Brown, two singles from Kaleb Hupp, a double from Bailey Ridderkhoff, and singles from Jacob Smith and Davin Hupp.
Graves, Nick Flora and Ridderkhoff pitched.
Rotary 4, Cleveland Indians 3
A run in the sixth inning sent Rotary past the Cleveland Indians in the second game Wednesday.
Jeremiah Green singled and Tyler Le hit a double for Rotary, and they also pitched.
Cameron Barton hit a double and single for the Cleveland Indians, and Wan’Dale Robinson, Nate Simpson and Brodie Leitch all singled.
Simpson and Barton pitched.
