Brough signs to play football with Cumberlands

Jay Brough, 18, who graduated from Franklin Coumty HIgh School in May, has signed to play football at University of the Cumberlands, a NAIA school in Williamsburg.


Brough has lettered in football at FCHS.


Parents: Sam and Judy Brough.


Plans to major in:
Kinesiology.


GPA: 2.8


Sport you plan to play in college: football.


Position played:
offensive lineman/defensive lineman


Selected school because: small classes, football, family down there, had my major.


Letters earned:
football (3).


Chose school over:
Union College, Hanover College, Campbellsville University, Mt. St. Joseph (Ohio), University of Kentucky, Thomas More College.


Honors earned
: Football – All District (2), All County (2)


University of the Cumberlands offensive line coach Edgar Weiser on Jay Brough: “We are really excited about getting a quality student athlete in Jay. Myself being the offensive line coach, I can see the intensity and competiveness of him when I watch film. I’m counting on him having a great future at UC on and off the field. We are really excited.”
