The Cal Ripken League baseball tournament is set to wrap up this week.
The Stars and Shoe Carnival play tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the winners’ bracket final.
A losers’ bracket game will follow at 7 p.m.
On Wednesday the losers’ bracket final will be at 5:30 p.m., followed by the championship game at 7.
If the winners’ bracket team loses the 7 p.m. game Wednesday, a second and deciding game will be played Thursday at 6 p.m.
The tournament is being played at Paul Weddle Stadium.
Results from games played Thursday and Friday are listed below.
Stars 16, Crumbaugh Prop. 9
The Stars scored nine runs in the sixth inning to win Thursday night. Nick Roush hit a home run, double and two singles for the Stars, and Spencer Childers singled three times. Also getting hits were Jesse Thurman, Walker Lee and Quenton Ewing with two singles each, and Zach Anglin and Parker Burge each with a base hit. Roush and Lee pitched. TA Crumbaugh hit a double and single for Crumbaugh Properties, Corbin Farley hit a triple, Tristian Cinnamon hit a double, and Nate Johnson and Zach Poe both singled. Crumbaugh and Nathan Hudson pitched.
Shoe Carnival 10, Rotary 0
In Thursday’s second game Jacob Cummins hit a triple and single for Shoe Carnival, and Ryan Staples, Tyler Hockensmith, Brady Roberts, Isaac Fluharty and Mason Hall all singled. Staples and Hockensmith pitched. Michael Wilson hit a triple for Rotary. Tyler Le, Alex Campbell and Jeremiah Green all pitched.
FOP 16, Chenault & Hoge 3
FOP scored 12 runs in the last two innings to pull away for the win Friday. Isaac Dotson hit two triples for FOP, Baylor Napier hit a double and single, Branden Semones, Kobe Click and Gabe Gosney all singled twice, and Robbie Brown and Derrick King both hit doubles. Napier and Dotson pitched. Chenault & Hoge’s hits were a double by Nick Lewis and singles from Kennley Ballinger and Thomas Curlin. Tyler Cleveland, Ballinger, Timothy Hurley and Lewis pitched.
McDonald’s 9, Cleveland Indians 6
Conner Graves had three hits – two doubles and a single – for McDonald’s in Friday’s second game. Bailey Ridderkhoff hit two singles, Ayden Brown, Davin Hupp and Dennis Woodrum each hit a double, and Kaleb Hupp, Caleb Barnes and Jacob Smith each had a base hit. Kaleb Hupp and Graves pitched. Cam Barton hit a home run for McDonald’s, Logan Hawkins doubled twice, and Nate Simpson singled. Simpson and Barton pitched.
