Flyers, Cook march past Shelby County

SHELBYVILLE – The Franklin County boys golf team defeated Shelby County by 17 strokes Thursday at Weissinger Hills Golf Course. The Flyers finished with a combined score of 160 while Shelby County finished at 177.

FCHS’ Jacob Cook tied his career-low shooting a two-under 34 to medal. FCHS’ Luke Kellerman was second with a 40. The win lifts the Flyers to 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in CKC play.

Other scores for FCHS were Will Molen 40, Caleb Hughes 46 and Ben Nolan 50.

In the JV match, Franklin County won 176-202 to push its record to 3-1 on the season. 

Will Harnice was medalist for the third time in four matches this season with a new career low 38.

FCHS hits the course again Saturday at the Garrard County Invitational at Dix River.
