The Western Hills boys varsity and JV soccer teams traveled to Mercer County Saturday.

The varsity controlled most of the game and led on a goal by Elma Nfor. However a called handball in the box area led to a score off a rebounded penalty kick by Mercer.

The game was an unusually physical contest and the score ended at 1-1. WHHS keeper Will Davis had a number of saves.

In the first game of the evening the JV team led at the half but Mercer scored one goal in the second half to end the game with a score of 2-2.

On Tuesday the Wolverines return home Tuesday to play Owen County in the first night of the Rotary Capital City Classic at Sower Soccer Field at 8 p.m.

On Wednesday the Western Hills JV team plays at 5:30 p.m. at Franklin County.
