McCall hits hole-in-one

Roy McCall hit a hole-in-one at Lakeview Springs Golf Course on Aug. 15.

McCall recorded his ace on the 164-yard No. 2 hole. Bob Hoagland witnessed the shot.

Willette records hole-in-one

Harry E. Willette recently had a hole-in-one at Duckers Lake Golf Course.

His hole-in-one came on hole No. 10, from 147 yards out, using an 8-iron.

Witnesses to the shot were Larry McAdams, Ron Druin and Jim Reesor.

‘Tee It Up with C.O.C.O.’ scramble is Sept. 18

“Tee It Up with C.O.C.O.,” the third annual charity 9-hole golf scramble, trunk show and dinner will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the Frankfort Country Club.

The trunk show is 3 to 5 p.m., while the golf scramble is a shotgun start at 5:30 p.m. Registration fees are $60 per person.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the University of Kentucky Ovarian Cancer Screening Program. Capital Ovarian Cancer Organization, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) Organization Federal ID 41-2235692.

Entry forms available for Gov.’s Open

Entry forms are now available at the Juniper Hill pro shop for the 48th annual Farmers Bank Governor’s Open. The tournament will be played Sept. 7-9 at Juniper Hill. The entry fee is $200 for amateurs and $300 for professionals.


Junior High Spirit Night Thursday

The Franklin County High School volleyball team is having a Junior High Spirit Night on Aug. 30. FCHS plays Woodford County with three matches at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Junior high students, both boys and girls, from Elkhorn Middle, Good Shepherd and Frankfort Christian Academy will receive free admission if they are wearing a shirt with their school’s name on it.
