WINCHESTER – The Franklin County Flyers traveled to Winchester Tuesday night and got their fourth win of the season, shutting out George Rogers Clark, 4-0.
The first goal of the game came with 20:03 remaining in the first half and was scored by senior Rolman Delgado on a great through ball from senior Logan Doris. Delgado scored again with only 10 seconds remaining in the half on an assist by junior Nathan Hale.
With 18:34 remaining in the second half, Doris’ shot hit the back of the net on an assist from senior Medhi Boughroud.
The Flyers finished their offensive attack at the 14:12 mark with a goal from senior Nick Cumpston after a corner kick from Hale.
Franklin County head coach Zac Donnelly was pleased with the way his team played.
“As a whole I felt we played the best 80 minutes of soccer we have played all year,” Donnelly said. “Now it is up to them to compete at that level on a consistent basis. We had some great possessions out of the midfield along with nice combination play and finishing out of the offense, not to mention the shutout put together by the defense.”
The Flyers (4-2-1) travel to Danville to face Boyle County on Thursday night.
