FCHS notes: The Flyers continued their winning ways last Friday, defeating Frankfort High and claiming their third straight city championship. Senior Ryan Timmons has now scored 13 touchdowns this year for Franklin County, adding three last week. For the season he has 226 yards rushing and 378 yards receiving. He’s caught five touchdown passes and rushed for three more scores. Senior quarterback Logan Woodside is nearing 1,000 yards for the year. He currently has 936 yards. He’s completed 34 of 49 passes for 14 touchdowns with no interceptions. Junior Lorenzo McCaskell had 128 yards receiving last week, giving him 293 yards on the year with five touchdowns. He also has a team-high 20 tackles.

Last year’s record: 4-6 (lost to Franklin Co. 56-21 in the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs)
Notes: The Eagles didn’t have much luck with Franklin County last season, losing to the Flyers 54-14 in Frankfort in the fourth week of the season and then having their season ended by FCHS in the first round of the playoffs. Scott is off to a good start this season with wins over Leslie County, Taylor (Ohio) and Newport. The Eagles’ only loss was by six points, 21-15, to Holmes. Junior Josh Castleman was Scott’s leading rusher through the first three games with 302 yards. He had scored four touchdowns going into the Newport game, and he had 23 tackles. Senior lineman Trevor Evans had 25 tackles through three games, and junior quarterback Ben Osborne had scored two touchdowns.
