Panthers roll past Bath Co.

PARIS – Frankfort High’s boys basketball team roared out to a 21-8 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 67-50 victory over Bath County Saturday in the Kentucky Bank Shootout at Bourbon County High School.

The Panthers (3-2) increased their advantage over the next two quarters, leading 39-23 at halftime and 58-36 after the third period.

Jalen Oliver led FHS in scoring with 16 points, and Trevon Washington was in double figures with 12.

Also scoring for Frankfort were Jalen Washington and Travis Skelton with seven points each, Davon Bates and Anthony Robinson with six points each, Trey Thomas and Connor Slone each with five points, and Matthew Smith with three.

Keegan Sammons led Bath County (3-2) with 11 points.

Frankfort plays its next game at home Tuesday against Franklin County.


Curry playing in bowl game

Dylan Curry, a member of the Ball State football team, will be playing in the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl Friday, Dec. 21 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

A graduate of Western Hills, Curry is a tight end. The Cardinals (9-3) will take on Central Florida (9-4). The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and be televised on ESPN.


Juniper Christmas party Thursday

The annual Juniper Hill Golf Course Christmas Party will be Thursday, Dec. 13 starting at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Musical entertainment will be provided by “The ‘Hill Boys.” Please call the pro shop at 875-8559 for more information. Season passes for 2013 are now on sale at the pro shop.
