Lady Panthers roll in All ‘A’ 1st round

Frankfort High’s girls basketball team overcame a shaky start and rolled to a 45-19 victory over West Carter Wednesday morning in the Touchstone Energy All “A” Classic at the Frankfort Convention Center.

The Lady Panthers (13-4) will play at 8:30 a.m. Friday against the winner of Wednesday’s Murray-Bishop Brossart game.

Frankfort High trailed 6-2 in the first quarter when freshman BriAnna Burbridge hit a 3-pointer. Senior Shanae Brown followed with a basket to give the Lady Panthers a 7-6 lead, and they coasted from there to the win.

FHS led 14-8 after the first quarter but held the Lady Comets to just two points in the second period to lead 27-10 at halftime.

Frankfort scored 21 points in the first half off turnovers, and West Carter (7-11) scored two points off turnovers.
