Stephanie Decker Day March 25
The Franklin County High School baseball team is hosting Stephanie Decker Day March 25.
Decker is a 1992 graduate of FCHS who lost her legs while protecting her children as an F4 tornado destroyed their home in Henryville, Ind., last year.
On March 25 the Flyer baseball team will play Silver Creek High School, coached by Decker’s husband, Joe Decker.
The purpose of the day is to raise awareness and money for the Stephanie Decker Foundation, which in part helps children who have prosthetics play sports. It also helps amputees gain access to leading edge technology in prosthetics.
The baseball team is selling commemorative T-shirts for the event and tickets to a post-game meal, with proceeds from both going directly toward Decker’s foundation.
For more information about the event check out the website http://fchsbaseball.org/2013/02/27/flyers-welcome-stephanie-decker/.
