West Jessamine’s girls golf team won a tri-match with Franklin County and Western Hills Tuesday at Juniper Hill Golf Course.
WJHS, led by medalist Grace Rose with a 38, had a team total of 172. FCHS was second at 210, and Western Hills was third at 217.
Taylor Cammack led the Lady Flyers with a 43, and Emily Stevens had WHHS’ low round at 49.
“We had five players, three for Franklin County and two for Western Hills, and this was the first time they ever played a competitive high school match,” said Lesa Hodge, head coach of FCHS and WHHS.
“For them to come out and score the way the did, and those were straight-up scores, no circle anything, I’m proud of them for it.”
Both teams are back in action today, hosting Anderson County and Boyle County at Juniper Hill.
The two local teams will be hosting the Hilen Invitational Saturday at Juniper with a shotgun start between 12:30-1 p.m. About 20 teams are expected to participate.
