National Guard football jerseys
The jerseys worn by Franklin County High School’s football team Friday weren’t school colors, and you couldn’t find the words “Flyers” or “Franklin County” on them.
Instead the Flyers wore camouflage jerseys emblazoned with “National Guard” across the chest.
“It was a special deal,” FCHS coach Chris Tracy said. “The National Guard selected a couple of schools in Central Kentucky to wear the jerseys. It’s an advertising type of deal.
“We’re more than happy to do it. We have a lot of families connected with the military and the National Guard, families who work out there. We appreciate what they do.”
It was also a one-game deal, and the Flyers will be back in blue and gold when they play at Woodford County Friday.

All proceeds including gate admissions, concessions, shirts and other fundraising ventures were donated to breast cancer awareness.
