FHS Notes: Frankfort High wrapped up district play last week not only undefeated but also unscored upon. The Panthers were able to play with a running clock in all three of their district wins. FHS has seven players who have rushed for at least 100 yards, led by junior Jalen Washington with 579 yards and nine touchdowns on 87 carries. Washington has also caught 25 passes for 329 yards and three touchdowns. Senior Dre Scott and sophomore Matthew Smith have also caught three touchdown passes each. Sophomore quarterback Anthony Robinson is two yards short of 1,000 yards, completing 74 passes out of 165 attempts for 998 yards and 11 touchdowns. Junior Isaiah Jackson has 68 tackles, and senior Nathan Cox has 64.

Notes: Senior Jawan Grey is Danville’s leading rusher with 1,047 yards on 124 carries. He’s rushed for 14 touchdowns, and he’s scored two more on pass receptions. Senior running back Olyjawan Ford has carried the ball 97 times for 457 yards and three touchdowns. Freshman Zack Dampier has completed 40 passes out of 90 attempts for 779 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Senior Ace Ray is Dampier’s favorite target, catching 21 passes for 402 yards and four touchdowns.

WHHS Notes: The Wolverines close out their season on the road Friday night. WHHS is coming off a loss to Powell County that saw the Wolverines fall behind early and fight back to take a one-point lead in the fourth quarter before losing. Junior Nick Lockett has rushed for 924 yards and nine touchdowns this season, and junior Cody Williams has rushed for 379 yards and two touchdowns. Junior quarterback Nick Young has completed 38 passes for 522 yards and five touchdowns, and he’s rushed for another 299 yards and eight touchdowns. Lockett has caught two touchdowns passes and sophomore John Elder has caught one. Lockett leads the WHHS defense with 59 tackles, and junior Tyree Childress has 56 tackles.

Notes: Shelby County has gone 1-3 in its last four games. The Rockets lost a district game last week to Bullitt East and finished 1-2 in district play. Shelby’s only district win came against Bullitt Central when the Rockets rallied twice for the 36-32 victory. SCHS trailed Bullitt Central by 13 points early and by 11 points in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Malik Manica is the Rockets’ leading rusher. Senior Dalton Thompson is Shelby County’s quarterback and he’s a dual threat with his ability to run. The Rockets have been outscored just 231-210 this season.
