GEORGETOWN — Georgetown senior guard Andrea Howard tied a career-high with 34 points in the Tigers’ 101-78 victory over Rio Grande Saturday in a Mid-South Conference basketball game at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.
Howard, a graduate of Franklin County High School, went 11 for 21 from the field, including 5 for 8 on 3-pointers. She also had eight rebounds, four assists and six steals.
Teammate Kourtney Tyra scored a career-high 29 points for Georgetown, now 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
The Lady Tigers shot 42.6 percent from the field while holding Rio to 35 percent shooting.
Alexis Payne had a double-double for Rio (12-4, 1-3) with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
