Bellarmine still perfect with win over Drury

LOUISVILLE — In the battle of unbeatens, Bellarmine University’s men’s basketball team defeated NCAA Div. II defending national champion Drury 85-77 Thursday at Knights Hall.

Bellarmine, ranked No. 2 in the country, ended Drury’s 34-game winning streak. The Panthers came into the Great Lakes Valley Conference game ranked No. 3.

Franklin County High School graduate Vance Hall, a senior at Bellarmine, scored 13 points for the Knights, now 11-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Hall, who went 8 for 10 from the foul line, hit two free throws with 40 seconds left to put Bellarmine up 85-77.
Keisten Jones led Bellarmine with 17 points.

The Knights shot 47 percent from the field, and Drury (11-1, 3-1) shot 43 percent.
