LEXINGTON — Kentucky State University, Bellarmine and host Kentucky were among the 23 indoor track and field teams that competed at the Kentucky Track & Field Invitational last weekend at the Nutter Field House.

KSU junior Kieren Broussard became an NCAA DII provisional qualifier in the 800-meter run after his performance at the Kentucky Invitational.

Broussard finished in fifth place overall with a time of 1:53.87 and was the top finisher from an NCAA DII school. The time was converted to 1:55:50 based on the track size at the Nutter Field House.

A runner must finish with a time under 1:55:63 to provisionally qualify for NCAA DII Nationals. Broussard is currently ranked 10th in the country after his finish last weekend.

Western Hills graduate Alisha Adair, a freshman at UK, ran on the winning 4x400 relay team with Sha’Keela Saunders, Morganne Phillips and Kendra Harrison. Their winning time was 3:47.68.

Adair finished ninth in the preliminaries of 60-meter dash with a time of 7.63 seconds. The top eight advanced to the final for the event.

In the 200-meter dash Adair was 10th in 24.68 seconds.
