Georgetown women win

Devanny King was a single rebound from a double-double and Kourtney Tyra eclipsed the 500-rebound mark as Georgetown College women’s basketball team won at home Thursday, beating St. Catharine 69-54.

King had 20 points and nine rebounds while Tyra had a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Andrea Howard, a Franklin County graduate, had 12 points to round out the double figure scoring for No. 8 Georgetown (16-4, 10-2).

Machera Calhoun had 16 and Heather Sandlin 15 to lead the Patriots (3-15, 1-11).

Georgetown hosts  No. 5 Campbellsville University in the NAIA National Game of the Week at 2 p.m. Saturday. It is also the Think Pink Play4Cure game.
