Cook signs with Ky. Christian

Megan Cook, 17, a senior at Western Hills High School, has signed to play volleyball at Kentucky Christian University, an NAIA school in Grayson.

Cook has lettered in volleyball and softball at WHHS.

Parents: Robin and Donnie Cook.

Plans to major in: social work and Bible ministry.

GPA: 3.5.

Selected school because: The opportunity to participate in volleyball at the collegiate level while pursuing academics.
Letters earned: volleyball and softball.

Position played: defensive specialist.

Chose school over: Union College.

Honors earned: French Honor Society, Beta Club, Most Accurate Server Award.

Western Hills volleyball coach Kristi Buffenmyer: “Megan always had a thirst for volleyball. She continues to improve her game knowledge and skill level from year to year. It is no surprise to us that she has decided to further her involvement with the sport and continue to advance towards the collegiate level. Megan will be missed at Western Hills and we wish her success at Kentucky Christian University.”

Kentucky Christian University coach Bruce Dixon: “Megan will compete for rotations as a defensive specialist. She has tremendous attitude and work ethic, but more than that, she is an outstanding young lady. Megan is a great fit on this team. We are very proud to have her choose KCU.”
