Tandy hits hole-in-one

Jon Tandy recently hit a hole-in-one on the No. 3, 145-yard hole at Duckers Lake Golf Resort.
Tandy recorded his ace using a 7-iron. Witnesses to the shot were Jesse Leach and Mike Miller.

Clinics
scheduled
at Juniper

Two clinics for beginning golfers will take place at Juniper Hill Golf Course and Lakeview Springs Golf Course the week of April 21.
Golf 101 for beginning juniors (8-13 years old) will be April 22-23 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Lakeview Springs and April 24-25 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Juniper Hill.
The cost of the clinics is $35 each.
Golf 101 for women who are beginning golfers will be April 22-23 at Lakeview Springs from 5:45-7:15 p.m. and April 24-25 at Juniper Hill from 5:45-7:15 p.m.
The clinics are open to women of any age, and there is no charge for members of the Juniper Hill Ladies Golf Club.

TENNIS
Beginners class offered

The Frankfort Tennis Association has a new program for beginning players or players who have been away from the game.
The Tennis Apprentice program begins April 23 at 6 p.m. at East Frankfort Park.
The eight-week program, coached by Jill Smith, features four weeks of on-court instruction in rules, terms, basic strokes and game play. The final four weeks are guided match play.
“This is our second season with Tennis Apprentice,” Smith said. “We had a great turnout last season and within a few weeks brand new players were competing and having fun.”
The $44 fee includes a year’s membership in the USTA. For more information, call Smith at 502-803-1650.

Football hosting
Comedy Caravan

Frankfort High’s football team is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner and Comedy Caravan May 1 at Frankfort High School.
The spaghetti dinner and a silent auction will begin at 5 p.m. in the FHS cafe with the show to follow in the FHS auditorium.
The Comedy Caravan will feature Lee Cruse along with 2013 Pit Stop Hot Shot Comedy Champion Joe Deuce and coach Billy Goldsmith from “The Moth Story Slam.”
Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 the day of the show.
