BASS FISHING
FCHS pair place ninth at state

Franklin County’s Cameron Thompson and Jacob Moore finished ninth in the KHSAA Bass Fishing State Championships Saturday at Kentucky Lake.
Thompson and Moore caught seven fish weighing a total of 21 pounds, 7 ounces over two days.
FCHS’ John Harnice and Will Harnice tied for 31st with a total of 5 pounds, 8 ounces.

FRANKFORT HIGH
Lady Panthers 11th at meet

ELIZABETHTOWN — Frankfort High’s Shantiqa Shaw won the 300-meter hurdles and the Lady Panthers finished 11th out of 24 teams at the Panther Invitational track and field meet Friday.

Shaw’s winning time in the 300 hurdles was 50.33 seconds.

Shaw placed in the top 10 in three other events. She was second in the 100-meter hurdles (17.41), fifth in the 100-meter dash (13.20) and sixth in the long jump (14-09).

Football team to
host Comedy Caravan

Frankfort High’s football team is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner and Comedy Caravan May 1 at Frankfort High School.

The spaghetti dinner and a silent auction will begin at 5 p.m. in the FHS cafe with the show to follow in the FHS auditorium.

The Comedy Caravan will feature Lee Cruse along with 2013 Pit Stop Hot Shot Comedy Champion Joe Deuce and coach Billy Goldsmith from “The Moth Story Slam.”

Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 the day of the show.

Volleyball team sets meeting

Franklin County High School volleyball will have a player and parent informational meeting at 6 p.m. May 8 in the high school cafeteria. 
The meeting is for those interested in trying out for the FCHS volleyball team and their parents.

RUNNING
Speed/athletic camp set

A speed/athletic camp will take place June 16-19 at 6 p.m. at the Western Hills track and field facility.
The camp will be hosted by former WHHS head track coach Christian Adair.

Lockridge hits ace at Duckers Lake

Scott Lockridge hit a hole-in-one at Duckers Lake Golf Resort April 6.
Lockridge recorded his ace at the 10th hole, using a pitching wedge from the blue tee. The distance was 125 yards.
Witnesses to the shot were James McBrayer and Dusty Wainscott.
