Civitan scramble is Friday

The Frankfort Civitan Club will hold its J.L. Soyars Civitan Golf Scramble Friday at Juniper Hill Golf Course. There will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. with lunch provided before the scramble begins.
The cost is $50 per person. Make your own foursome or contact the club to be placed on a team.

League starting in June

The Frankfort Parks, Recreation & Historic Sites is starting a kickball league this summer.
Registration is underway for the co-ed league, open to men and women ages 16 and over.
Registration will end May 26. Games will be played Tuesdays beginning June 3 and concluding July 8. The cost is $25 per person, which includes a team shirt.
The league director will assign team captains for each team, and the team captain will then select his/her team. Team registration also will be accepted for $250.
All games will be played at Capitol View Park.
To register online, go to and look for kickball under the recreation tab. Participants must complete the payment portion of the online registration to be registered.
Those interested may also register in person at the parks office at Juniper Hill Park weekdays from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
There will be an informational meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the Sullivan Field at Capitol View Park.

Youth camp May 23-25

The Junior Flyer Youth Volleyball Camp will be May 23-25 at the Franklin County High School gym.
The camp is for boys and girls ages 9-13 (or in grades 3-7) and will focus on basic fundamentals and aspects of the game.
The camp will meet from 5-8 p.m. May 23, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. May 24, and 2-5 p.m. May 25. The fee is $ $55, and each participant will receive a camp T-shirt.

Leagues taking signups
Frankfort Outdoor Volleyball (FOV) is now accepting signups for the summer volleyball leagues.
FOV will be hosting the following leagues: Co-Ed Sixes (B and C level teams) Monday nights; Men’s (Open), Women’s (Open) and Co-Ed Quads (A, B and C level teams) Tuesday nights; and High School Quads Wednesday nights. 
The leagues begin the first week of June and run through August. Frankfort Outdoor Volleyball has operated leagues in Frankfort since 1979 and is a Division of Frankfort, Parks, Recreation & Historic Sites. 
FOV is the only USA Beach Volleyball sanctioned organization in Kentucky.
