High school alumni game is Saturday at Sower

The Seventh Annual Frankfort Area High School Alumni Soccer Game will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at Capitol View Park’s Sower Soccer Complex.
Male and female players who are graduates of the three local high schools are invited to both attend and participate in this friendly night of play.
Those who intend to play should wear their school colors. There will be three 30-minute games, with each team taking turns playing each other.
The format (who plays first) will be decided at the field on game night.
Admission is free and open to the public. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Soccer alumni are encouraged to spread the word via other social media in order to help get the information to others and to increase attendance.
Youth football kickoff is Saturday

The Frankfort Youth Football League will have its season kickoff Saturday at Harrod Field in Capitol View Park.
The event will start at 9 a.m. All players and cheerleaders will be introduced, and some teams will scrimmage.
The public is invited to attend. Children 12 and under are admitted free, and admission is $3 for everyone else.

Simon House scramble is Aug. 22
The Simon Says: Swing Fore Simon House golf scramble is set for Aug. 22 at Juniper Hill Golf Course.
Each four-person team will play a scramble with an added Simon Says twist.
The cost per player is $60 for an entry postmarked or received by Friday and $65 for registration after that day. For Juniper Hill members, the cost is $40 before Friday and $45 for late registration.
Registration fee includes lunch, a golf cart for the round and a goody bag.
Lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 1 p.m.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Simon House, a nonprofit transitional living facility for homeless adult women who are pregnant or have children.
To register for the event, visit the Simon House website, www.simonhouseonline.org, and fill out a registration form. Forms can be faxed to 502-223-9808, or mailed to the Simon House, 208 W. Campbell St., Frankfort, KY 40601.
