Woodford tops FCHS, WHHS in tri-match

Stevens leads Lady Wolverines to 2nd

The Western Hills and Franklin County girls golf teams competed against Woodford County in a 9-hole competition Tuesday at Juniper Hill Golf Course.
Woodford County finished with a score of 210, led by medalist Jane Watts with a 2-over 39, to win the three-team match.
Western Hills came in second (214), led by Emily Stevens’ 44. Other Wolverine scores were sophomore Allison Harrod 47, Emily Hill 58, Sidney Cobb 65 and Christine McGaughey 67.
Franklin County (235) was led by Cami Montgomery’s 56. Other Flyer scores were Mackenzie Cunningham 57, Natalie Thomas 60, and Madison Cunningham 62.
Boys Golf
Western Hills’ boys golf team played in matches back-to-back days at Juniper.
Scott County defeated the Wolverines Monday, 162-153. Scott County’s Harrison Hughes (35) was the medalist in a score-card playoff over Wolverine Nick Wilkins.
Other Wolverine scores were Chris Hughes 36, Will Collins 41, Tristan Darnell 50 and Bradley Hughes 51.
Wilkins came back Tuesday with a 37 in a round affected by the wind to be the medalist. The Wolverines were edged out by Woodford County, 176-171.
Other Wolverine scores were Chris Hughes 42, Collins 48, Jake Anderson 49 and Bradley Hughes 52.
