JV Flyers top Anderson 2-1
LAWRENCEBURG — The Franklin County Flyers boys junior varsity soccer team played its first game of the season Tuesday night traveling to Anderson County to take on the Bearcats. The Flyers won the game, 2-1.
The Bearcats scored in the first five minutes of the game on a penalty kick after a handball in the box by one of the Flyers’ defenders.
But FCHS continued to attack the defense of Anderson County. With 19:57 remaining in the first half, sophomore Carson Chancellor tied the game for the Flyers, and the half ended with the score 1-1.
The Flyers opened the second half of the game as aggressive as they played the first half. With 29:40 remaining, freshman Austin Fields put the Flyers ahead after an assist from freshman Tanner Banta.
Freshman Mason Parritt was in the goal for the Flyers.
The FCHS JV Flyers (1-0) host Woodford County tonight at the Sower Soccer Complex.
